Two sides of the same coin...

‘The way things r going...i think i must change the definition of emotional and practical for sure...i certainly believe the emotional people have taken enough liberty to toy with the words and defined the approaches in their favour....

Last week I was talking to a friend who is set to get married in the near future...she was asking...'are you coming to wedding then'...I gave her reasons that it won't possible for me to attend...and she said, why are you so practical.....you should at least say yes….and I will continue to dream as if you will be coming and be happy….

I am like, what?...What’s practical in that, it’s reality....I am trying to make her life easy by telling her in advance that I can’t come….so that there will be no expectations and disappointment…as per me this is perfect emotional approach…..trying to understand other person’s emotions and not to hurt them …….

but then it dawned on me...everybody doesn’t think this way... My friend must be thinking ‘Why downright no...you should say 'i will try my best to come or something like that?...I would have waited for u...u know what, it’s fun to expect something even knowing there's a disappointment in store for me….but with a firm 'no'...u took away my right to expect and get disappointed….and deprive me of that fun...'

People love to expect...they even crave for the disappointment, pain... they expect, get disappointed...still continue to expect and get disappointed….again and again…. They enjoy that process...you cannot cut short the process at its root and decide 'not to expect at all'....so people who expect, crave for disappointment, feel pain are emotional ...and I am practical cause I believe the process, absolutely futile...

There's another myth...Kalakar ha emotional asato ….is it? mhanaje to emotions cha jastit jast vichar karat asel….tyala emotions prakat karane ( may it be kavita, lekh, gayan, chitra) uttam jamale asel….pan yacha arth to emotional aahe asa hot nahi….to halava asel, tyachya bhavana chatkan dukhavalya jat asatil…..pan he fakt to bhavanik khelatach ramalela aahe aani tyachach satat vichar karato mhanun….to aajubajuchya ghatananche manavar honare parinaam chhan tipat aselahi…..pan mala vatate to ek prakaracha abhyasu avishkar aahe….Kalakaar jevadha halava tevadhach ekhada businessmen hi halava asato…fakt te vegvegalya goshtisathi halave asatil…..

So these 'so-called' practical people don't have emotions?...that can't be true...i guess...the difference in emotional and practical people lies in the way they handle the emotions....the emotional ones are over-powered by emotions...the practical ones r in charge of theirs...practical ones control their emotions well...whereas the emotional ones make a mess of it...emotional people are those who love emotions and love to remain in that world...practical ones are the ones who know there's a world outside this world too....’

Treat them well....

''For all the book lovers out there.......if you cannot read all books from start to finish....then at least caress them with love...let them fall open where they want...read from the first sentence that arrests the eye...set them back on the shelves with your own hands...arrange them on your own plan so that you at least know where they are...some books are meant to be tasted...others to be swallowed...some to be chewed on...some books are to be read only in parts...some to be read but not curiously....some to be read wholly...with attention...but no matter what let them be your friends...at any rate...and if you can not treat them as friends....let them be your acquaintances all your life...treat them as persons''.....

Innocence....

Random...

Why do the religious among us hate scientific findings so much...unless it really support their own beliefs...and on the other hand why do the scientific minded among us...hate religion and God...i sometimes think...it is through the science that God shows us his most beautiful creations....

Man-woman equality a 'convenient' fact?

A few days back..I was travelling in the bus....and the TCs (they make frequent appearances these days...)....made their way into the bus...and found 4 youths travelling without ticket......who were supposedly travelling together...and they had only 2 tickets to show between them...their argument...they paid for all the 4 tickets...and got only two in return...conductor deliberately/non-deliberately forgot to give them the balance two...

Obviously no one bought their argument...they said...this is your normal trick...u travel in a bunch...sit separately...buy tickets together...and confuse us...conductor was adamant that he gave them 2 tickets 'cos he got money for only two...in the end...after a lot of arguments...they had to pay the fine of rs. 1000...now they may or may not be the culprits...but they were looked down right from the word go...it was obvious that no one was going to believe them in anyway......

Now the TCs moved ahead...and found another lady travelling without ticket...they had the same arguments with the lady..who was time and again telling them...she forgot her pass at office...not home.....and she dont hv enough money now to pay the fine...she had phoned somebody at home..and that somebody will come at the bus stop with the money..mind you...the lady was going to get down at the last stop....so after a lot of discussion between them...one of them remarked..''jane do...madam hai..'....kahan woh ek fine ke liye last stop tak jayenge...''and they let her go just like that....without fine...

Same situation...same so-called crime..and different reactions to it...if it was very annoying to see those 4 people travelling without tickets...it was equally disturbing to see the officials let that woman go...just because she was the woman?

All in your hands..

There was a Swamiji...who was so wise, that one of his disciples, wanting to prove him wrong at least once, came up with an ingenious plan. He would carry a bird in one hand, hide it with the other hand, and pop a question, “ Swamiji, I have a bird in my hand. Is it dead or alive?” If the Swamiji answered, “Dead”, he (the disciple) would open his hands and let the bird fly, proving the Swamji wrong. If the answer was “Alive”, he would crush the bird between his hands and show the dead bird, proving the Swamiji wrong again.
So, next day, he goes to the Swamiji with the bird and asks the question if the bird in his hands was dead or alive. The Swamiji, the smart guy that he was, looked him in the eye and replied, “My son, the answer is in your hands”.
